Keeping Secrets in Seattle by Brook Moss review

Seattle hairstylist Violet Murphy always knew the day would come when her best friend Gabe Parker would want to settle down. She’d secretly wished it would be with her, but now that he’s chosen someone else—the prim, perfect Alicia—he wants Vi to be his best man. Healing her broken heart isn’t easy, but when Violet meets Landon Harlow, a man who isn’t fazed by her funky style and less-than-delicate attitude, she takes a step in the right direction. Until Gabe’s fiancé’s gorgeous façade begins to crack, and Violet’s disturbing past comes back to haunt her, that is. Vi now finds herself armed with a series of lies that would break Gabe’s heart—and his engagement—if he knew their truth, and a secret from their childhood that could change everything. With the wedding looming, her relationships unraveling, and the bachelor party of the century to plan, Violet must choose between a fresh start with Landon, or confronting her painful past and risking it all for a chance at a future with Gabe

Violet Murphy is a hairstylist that is in love with her best friend Gabe Parker. She has loved him since she first met him when she was six years. They tried dating when they were teenagers but after a crazy party and an unwelcome run in with Cam it ended. Now Gabe is getting married and Violet is heartbroken but determined to stop it. She needs to tell Gabe about what really happened at Cam’s partly but she can’t find the right time to tell him. He is always so busy planning him perfect wedding. That is when she starts falling in love with Landon, he is perfect for her and treats her like she is a queen. Violet and Landon head to Vegas that is when she sends Gabe her journal explaining what really happened that night so long ago. Will childhood love beat all?

My Thoughts
First let me say I will read anything that has Brooke Moss’ name on it. I adore her writing and her characters. Keeping Secrets in Seattle is an amazing love story of first love. When you first meet Violet and you find out that Gabe is getting married, you want to tell you to, “Give up, there is better out there!” And then Landon shows up like a knight in Neil Young concert T-shirt. You quickly find out that Violet is madly in love with Gabe, and she will always be. I love how you do feel the pain that she is feeling and I will admit I was crying a few times. I had to walk away from my tablet in fear I would throw it across the room. I wanted to smack Gabe across his handsome face for being a donkey butt. I will say with every book I read for Brook Moss, she leaves me wanting more of her. I cannot wait for more to read from this amazing author. I will be recommending her to everyone I know!
