My Review
Thank you to Cameo Renae for allowing me to read this first! This cover is completely amazing!
When Emma Wise wakes up in the hospital and is told that she was in an car accident. When she ask about her parents she is told that they are dead. She is 17 and doesn’t know what is going to happen, until she is told that she has an aunt that want to take her in. Emma has never hurt of this aunt, and the biggest thing is she lives in Alaska. She thinks her life is going to suck until she meets her escort Kade Anders. He is very handsome and there is something with him, something she can't put her finger on. This story will take you on a ride! There are so many twist and turns, it will make your head spin. I love a book that keeps me reading long after bedtime and this book did, until I finished! There are also many parts where I screamed, “What!?!” I highly recommend this book, but it is highly addictive!
What made you want to be an author?
The first time I read The Lion
the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis, I fell in love. I walked with Lucy
into the Wardrobe. I met Mr. Tumnus, and had tea with him. I walked with Aslan
and watched him die. That’s what triggered it. I wanted to create my own
worlds, and take my own adventures. I’ve always had a wild imagination, and
have been known to daydream. So, writing those things down, was a good thing.
1: I love Dr. Pepper.
2: I’ve been married for 22 years.
3: I was an All-Star soccer player in High School.
Can you tell us a little about
Hidden Wings?
Hidden Wings is the story of
seventeen year old Emma Wise. A tragic accident throws her normal world into a
spin, and it seems as if everything is crashing down around her. The life she
was living, up until the accident, was all a façade, and soon…secrets, murder,
and an age old prophecy are revealed. And… some gorgeous Guardians.
What was the hardest part about
writing Hidden Wings?
The hardest part is always the
beginning and ending. The beginning is what hooks everyone in, and the ending
is what makes them want to come back for more. Getting it right is tough.
What’s your favorite scene you have
written?
Right now, my favorite scene is
the ending of In My Dreams.
I know you just finished Broken
Wings, can you give us a little sneak peak? J
Hmmmm… Sneaky question, Khelsey!
LOL But because you asked…
Here’s a teaser from the
upcoming novel: Broken Wings
As
soon as Malachi opened the door, Kade fell limp into his arms. Dominic and
Alexander pushed around him and ran down the hall with their weapons in hand.
“Kade?
Kade? Hey man! Are you with me?” Malachi called to him, carrying and laying him
on the couch across from me. Kade answered with a groan, but his eyes remained
closed.
“What
the hell happened to him?” I asked, frozen in place. From what I could see, he
was badly injured. I suddenly snapped myself out of my funk and jumped up off
the couch. I knelt at his side, and held his hand in mine. It felt very cold
and weak. Then a most horrifying realization hit me like a brick. I was
touching him. We were touching and there was no heat… no surges… no feelings of
euphoria… nothing.
“Oh
my god! Something’s wrong with him. He can’t die, right? Tell me he can’t die!”
Hot tears welled in my eyes as I looked at Malachi. Something was wrong.
Something was VERY wrong. I couldn’t feel him and it scared the hell out of me.
Is there a song that makes you want
to dance? If so which one?
I am listening to one right now…
J-Lo ~ On the Floor. Always makes me wanna dance!
How did you find your publisher?
I actually saw them first on FB.
I had some author friends who were published through them, and I ABSOLUTELY
loved the name. Crushing Hearts and Black Butterfly Publishing. How awesome is
that!? So, I submitted to them.
Do you have any advice for aspiring
authors?
I’ve had this question a lot and
it will always be the same. NEVER give up!!! At times it’s hard and you wonder
if you’re good enough. I’ve doubted my writing abilities, and myself, so many
times. But, there might be someone out there who will be touched by your words.
Write what’s in your head and in your heart, and just let the words flow. Your
words…because YOU will always be true to yourself.
Thank you for the interview!
