Bio
My
family is what keeps my heart beating, and my world a happier place
to be.
Writing
is my passion. I love creating new worlds and new characters, and
taking wondrous adventures with them. It's the most awesome feeling
to have others join me on those adventures... and I've only just
begun. :) I write about ghosts, angels, fantasy, and even zombies.
My
debut novel is In My Dreams, and my newest novel (Book 1 of a YA
Paranormal Trilogy) has just been accepted by Crushing Hearts and
Black Butterfly Publishing. YAY!!!
One
day I will find my magic wardrobe, and ride away on my magical
unicorn...
♥
Until then...
I'll keep writing! ;)
What
is a typical writing day for you?
During
the day, writing is non-existent. LOL My days are usually filled with
too many interruptions/distractions. My writing is done at night,
with everyone tucked snuggly in bed, while visions of sugar plums
dance in their heads. Okay…maybe not sugar plums. I don’t think
they’d even know what that is! Actually, what the heck is a sugar
plum? I think I’d rather have visions of Caramel Apples… ;)
mmmmmmm
For
those, like me, who didn’t know:
SUGAR
PLUM: A sugar plum is a piece of dragée candy that is made of
dried fruits and shaped in a small round or oval shape.
On
with the show…my writing routine:
- Make sure I’ll well caffeinated.
- Fluff pillows comfortably behind back.
- Turn on Mini-laptop.
- Plug in lime-green earphones.
- Sign into SPOTIFY & pull up my WIP.
- Enter: The Writing Zone… *Twilight Zone music plays* just kidding…
What
are you currently working on?
I
am working on the 2nd book of my Hidden Wings
Series. Hidden Wings (Book 1) will be released on January 18,
2013 by Crushing Hearts and Black Butterfly Publishing. It is a YA
Paranormal ~ Not too much romance in this second book, but it’s
filled with suspense, danger, and horror!!! It’s SO much fun to
write!!!
Favorite
Junk Food?
Do
I have to pick one? I really like a lot of junk food, even though I
don’t eat it often… A juicy BigMac (w/ extra sauce), Fries, Dr.
Pepper, Pizza, and Snickers. I know there are more, but those are the
favorites off the top of my head.
Hidden Wings - TEASER

I just hoped that if my plan didn’t work… I’d die
quickly.
I could tell I was getting close because the stench of the
Darkling was strong. It was a stink I’d never get used to, and it made me gag
and shudder.
Faint moans, followed bylaughter, echoed through the
tunnel sending a chill down my spine. My pulse began to race, my stomach twisted
in tight knots, and my legs felt weak and shaky.
“Come on Emma! Hold it together!” I whispered to myself.
I couldn’t give up. I couldn’t go back. There was
too much at stake. People’s lives were at stake, and sadly entrusted in my
feeble, un-transformed hands.
Another torch, ten-yards away, lit the tunnel off to the
left.
Footsteps, scuffling along the ground ahead, appeared to be heading in
my direction.
Holy crap… what do I
do? What do I do?
Then Dominic’s words rang through my head. Go big, or go home.
I really, really wanted
to go home, but I didn’t think knocking my mud covered converse shoes together
three-times was magical enough to send me there. But heck, this all seemed like
some twisted fairytale anyway, so I decided to try it. I closed my eyes and
quickly clicked my heals together. One…Two…Three.
Nothing.
Crap!
Whatever... It was worth a try. But, I wasn’t Dorothy
and instead of a witch and flying monkeys, I had a murderous Fallen Angel and Darklings.
Damn, I’d take flying monkeys over Darklings any day!
I gathered myself, took in a deep breath, and
headed towards the oncoming evil that lurked just around the corner. As soon as I
rounded the corner a Darkling halted in its tracks, his black eyes locked onto mine;
its white, creepy face loomed back and forth, sniffing the air, trying to figure
out what the hell it’d just run into.
