Nikki Hunt thought her
night couldn't get worse when her no-good, cheating ex ditched her at
dinner, sticking her with the bill. Then she found his body stuffed in
the trunk of her car and lost her two-hundred-dollar meal all over his
three-thousand-dollar suit. Now not only is Nikki nearly broke, she's a
murder suspect.
Former cop turned PI, Dallas O'Connor knows what it's like to be unjustly accused. But one look at the sexy-though skittish-suspect tells him she couldn't hurt anyone. The lead detective, Dallas's own brother, has the wrong woman and Dallas hopes a little late-night "undercover" work will help him prove it . . . **Previously published as Don't Mess With Texas

Nikki Hunt finally gives in to her ex
and agrees to meet him at dinner. Her ex-husband cheated on her but
she needs money, and she needs it now. When she sits down he is on
the phone, and he leaves for a minute. When Jack comes back he tells
how happy he is that she came, then his phone rings again. He tells
her to order for them, and she does. She waits over twenty minutes
before she wants to kill him. He ditched her with the bill that she
can't pay for. After paying for a meal she doesn't have the money
for, she goes to the store to get what she needs. Nikki can't believe
her ex wanted to get back with her and leave her with the bill. She
opens her trunk and, sees her ex staring blankly back at her.
Dallas O'Connor, is sitting with his brother when he gets a call
about a homicide he figures he will tag alone. When they get to the
crime scene some of the other cops are taking bets on if the ex wife
is guilty, he puts 20 in that she is. All of the evidence is pull at
her. When he walks up with his brother, he pukes on him, not once but
twice. He quickly finds himself saying he wants to help her.
I was given this book by the publisher.
I Loved every minute Dallas' and Nikki's story. Hotter in Texas
pulls you into a crazy story
from the first page, and leaves you wanting more and more. Nikki is
the sweet girl next door, and Dallas is the ex con. Their passion is
crazy from the start! I really love how Christie Craig wraps you in
this story. I Highly Recommend this book!!! It has a murder, sex, and
drama! Everything a great book needs.
