Samantha Fairchild is working and Joshua Strerling in with his wife. She goes over and ask what wine he would like and he orders 1982 Chateau Haut-Brion. She walks to Rene and asks him to get it for her. He tells her that it will be in five minutes. But she doesn't want to wait so she ask him for the key. He gives it to her but tells her that he just put in a new tape in the camera. As she is grabbing the wine she hears a mans voice, she looks though the wine and sees Josh. There is another man standing in front of him. Sam can't get a good look at the other man just the side of his face. He the other man shoots Josh she holds her breath so she wont be discovered. When the other man take the tape from the camera that was pointing at her the whole time. So now the killer has her face and knows who she is. With no where to turn to text her former best friend Vivi Angelino to help her She is a reporter and has many contentions. When Vivi replies to come over Sam does too bad it isn't Vivi waiting for her. It's the man who broke her heart and stomped on it.
Zack Angelino is surpise to see the girl he had a three week fling with. When he left with the Army Rangers he he knew that he would see her again but not like this. That is why he standing behind her so he could prepare her for what she will see. After an explosion left him with out an eye and a nasty scar on his face. He doesn't think he good enough for Sam.
After he finds out that her life is in danger he agrees to protecting her.
I love how this book shows you that love is beautiful. And it doesn't matter what you look like. Sam and Zack's relationship. Sam doesn't take any crap even when there are bullets flying! The whole time I'm hoping that Zack stops being an dummy and tell her how he feels. This is the first book I read of Roxanne St. Claire's and I will be reading more. It is so hard to find a good romantic/suspense book and I just found a author who has many! I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who like a great suspense with a steamy romance!
